State Environment Protection Policy (Waters) review

To ensure Victoria has clear and relevant standards, legal rules and statutory obligations to protect and improve the health of our water environments, the Victorian Government has declared a new State Environment Protection Policy (Waters), also known as SEPP (Waters).

The new SEPP (Waters), which commenced on 19 October 2018, replaces two existing statutory policies (and associated Schedules) to provide a single instrument to guide water quality management in Victoria and improve the protection of our waterways, bays, coastal waters and groundwater.
