Community Reference Group

Community Reference Group

EPA’s Community Reference Group was formed in December 2012. It is made up of individual environmental advocates, representatives of community environment groups, and environment focused specialists.

The group’s purpose is to provide ongoing strategic advice and input to EPA that supports:

  • EPA’s CEO and Governing Board in successfully delivering our Organisational Strategy
  • the protection of human health and the environment from the harmful effects of pollution and waste
  • a healthy environment for a liveable and prosperous Victoria, now and always.

The central purpose of the Community Reference Group is to:

  • improve EPA’s understanding of community concerns and environmental priorities to help shape effective EPA policies and operational activities
  • enhance EPA programs and projects aimed at improving environmental outcomes, including exploring opportunities to partner in the development and delivery of programs
  • EPA’s administration of the Environment Protection Act 1970 and accompanying regulation.
